SET Executive Honored by United Way
August 2015 – SET’s very own Director of Family Empowerment, Leah Jepson, was awarded United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County’s prestigious 2015 Philanthropic 5 award! The annual award, created by United Way’s Emerging Leaders Council, recognize five community leaders in their 20s, 30s and 40s who give, advocate and volunteer for change throughout Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha’s nonprofit community. Congratulations Leah, and thank you for all your hard work and support!
VOCALIZE: A Summary of People’s Perspective on Health and Wellness
June 2015 – SET collected 486 satisfaction surveys this year from adults living in 13 public housing sites where SET provides services. Volunteers from corporate sponsors, schools and churches came to conduct interviews by having one-on-one conversations with people. The results of the surveys were then compiled into an executive report.

SET Clubs are Helping Housing Residents Heal
2014- Laehn recently described her organization’s program to members of the LeadingAge Housing Plus Services Learning Collaborative. SET Ministry and the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) are members of the Collaborative, which brings together teams of housing providers and their community partners to develop strategies for coordinating and delivering health and supportive services to residents of affordable senior housing.

SET Launches Resident Organization Leadership Institute
2014 - The Resident Organization Leadership Institute, a peer learning collaborative, was launched in February to give resident leaders across 13 different public housing developments the knowledge, skills and tools they need to become more effective leaders in their organization, their community and in their development. Planning and implementation of this institute was done in collaboration with the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee.

2012 - SET Adult Services team was ranked 1st among all Family Care Management Units in Milwaukee County.
2011 - SET is the anchor community partner of the Fostering Futures collaborative. This cross-sector, 9-member collaborative intends to translate science into practice to reduce the impact of childhood adversity and improve the child-welfare experience for children, parents and families.
Community Impact Award
2011 - SET received the first-ever President’s Community Impact Award in 2011/2012 from the Medical College of Wisconsin in recognition of the work SET does to improve the health of the community.
